Ceramic Device Makes Small Transformers Efficient.(Brief Article)

BOSTON--Thinner laptop computers and flat-screen televisions may be possible with a simple change in the geometry of piezoelectric transformers.

By changing the shape of transformers from rectangular to circular, researchers at Pennsylvania State University have developed a method to increase the conversion ratio of the devices without adding volume or weight.
