Plumbing giants clash over kitchen sink design.(Brief Article)

American Standard has filed a lawsuit against Kohler Co. to try to prevent Kohler from promoting and selling its new Meadowland single-bowl kitchen sink, which was introduced in January. In the suit, filed May 23 in the New Jersey Federal District Court in Newark, American Standard charges that Kohler's Meadowland sink copies the patented design of American Standard's Silhouette sinks, introduced in 1991. The court will hear American Standard's request for injunctive relief against Kohler on July 14.
