Expanded IRS electronic filing and payment options.

IRS will announce expanded electronic filing and payment options later this year...electronic filing for 941s, 1120-Ss and 7004s next year. They will be part of a five-year plan for electronic tax administration... will include Forms 940, 990, 1041, 1098, 1099 and payment by credit card.

But tax preparers cannot substitute electronically imaged returns for hard-copy returns with original signatures they are required to keep, even if the electronic image is of a manually signed hard-copy tax return. IRS says preparers still must keep signed paper returns for three years.
