Aerosol manufacturer USC Europe has created a can with a unique and distinctive silhouette, which will house Tesco's new shaving gel. The gel, part of the supermarket's Skin Wisdom range, is packaged in a can with slightly convex sides--the first shaped steel aerosol to be used in cosmetics packaging. This oval appearance is consistent with the rest of the range, which is packaged in oval plastic containers.

USC Europe combined its new hydroforming technology with expandable steel (developed by Arcelor Packaging International) to turn the prototype design into reality in just five months, something that aerosol development manager Jean Gapihan described as a 'considerable challenge'.
