Fiberoptic Product News, September, 2000
Silicon Labs announces the Si5020 multi-rate SONET/SDH clock and data recovery (CDR) integrated circuit (IC), the first product to be announced in the company's SiPHY[TM] family of high-speed physical layer ICs. The Si5020 is five times smaller than comparable CDRs, requiting only 16 square millimeters of board space and 50% less power than similar devices. The Si5020 recovers timing information and data from a serial input at OC-3, OC-12, Gigabit Ethernet, OC-48, OC-with forward error correction (FEC), and the equivalent SDH rates.
