PMC-Sierra, Inc. has introduced the PM5360 S/UNI[R] MULTI-48[TM] and PM5354 S/UNI[R] MULTI-2x12[TM] devices which offer a complete physical layer solution for simultaneously aggregating, transporting and terminating OC-3/STM-1, OC-12/STM-4, and OC-48/STM-16 Packet-over-SONET (POS) and ATM traffic on a single line card. The S/UNI MULTI devices are ideal for use in physical interfaces to connect network elements that demand rapid bandwidth expansion like xDSL access multiplexers [DSLAMs), cable modem termination systems (CMTSs), and wireless base-station controllers to edge routers and multi-service switches.
