For years, the leg-up in high-end security, surveillance and law enforcement was having the latest and greatest wireless equipment. Data over wireless upped the ante in precision and accurate threat assessment and information dissemination. This technology increased the accuracy, a hundred fold, for things like identifying suspects, getting building maps and sending and receiving photos and pictures. It also took a lot of the human error out of the equation (written directions eliminated any mistakes in what you hear; or what you pass on). And, it opens up the resource pool (you can send about anything you want to anyone, anywhere).
