Systagenix Wound Management is launched in UK; New company emerges from Ethicon's wound care business

Newly launched company, Systagenix Wound Management, headquartered in the UK, including a manufacturing and R&D facility based in Gargrave, North Yorkshire, is the creation of One Equity Partners.
The company, born out of the professional wound care business of Johnson & Johnson company Ethicon Inc, will continue to sell the same brand trademarks.
These include products such as: Promogran matrix wound dressing; Tielle hydropolymer dressing and Regrane (becaplermin) gel 0.01%; and a prescription treatment for lower extremity diabetic ulcers.

The company has a newly appointed senior management team headed up by Executive Chairman Chris Fashek and Chief Executive Officer Steve Atkinson. Staff from the existing Research and Development, Operations and Sales and Marketing teams have been transferred to the company, along with all existing brand trademarks.
One Equity Partners was established in 2001 and manages US$8 billion of investments and commitments for J P Morgan Chase & Co in direct private equity transactions.
