Reliance Communications and Sun TV sign agreement

Reliance Communications signed a long-term agreement with Sun Network Ltd. for broadcasting the firm's TV content on handsets that have video-viewing and GPRS capability. The content from Sun TV would initially be made available to Reliance users. V.G. Somasekhar, the hub head of Tamil Nadu and Kerala for Reliance Communications, said that although Reliance is capable of launching all 20 channels with immediate effect, the company is awaiting subscriber feedback before launching other channels.

The financial details of this agreement were not disclosed. The content from Sun TV can currently be seen in two formats: video streaming (for usual programs), and clip cast (for short, prerecorded video content). Video streaming can be accessed for $0.75 per session (around five...
