1991 "disappointing" for Halliburton

Halliburton Company, the US energy, engineering and construction services firm, reported a 1.3% rise in consolidated revenues to $7,018.8 million for the year ended December 31st, 1991. Net income fell by 86.5% to $26.6 million following a special charge of $118.5 million including the cost of employee reductions, facility closures and anticipated environmental costs. Thomas Cruikshank, chairman, described 1991's results as "disappointing" and said it was expected that "1992 will also be a difficult year". The company's environmental services are undertaken by its engineering and construction services group which reported a 2.0% rise in revenues to $3,728 million and an operating income of $73.7 million.
