US VOC control market $1,000m by 1999

Haznews, May, 1994

The US market for recovery and destruction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) will have increased by about 89%, from about $560.6 million in 1992 to $1,061.2 million by 1999, according to a report by the international market research group, Frost & Sullivan. The forecast excludes installation and associated engineering costs, and is similar to market projections noted in autumn 1993 by Engelhard Corporation, the US catalyst and precious metals firm (see HAZNEWS, September 1993, p. 13). Stationary and mobile sources in the US generate about 25 million tons (22.7 million tonnes) of VOC emissions annually, reports the US Environmental Protection Agency.
