Ford Australia and University of Melbourne to Research Hydrogen-Fueled Technology

Ford Motor Company of Australia and the University of Melbourne are working on a project to study hydrogen-fueled vehicle technologies.

The project just received an A$1.2 million grant from the Victorian State Government, and will begin research in July.

For the project, Ford Australia will contribute engines and resources to develop, build and test a hydrogen-fueled, turbo-charged Ford-6 cylinder that would use an advanced combustion technology called Hydrogen Assisted Jet Ignition (HAJI), with the aim of determining the characteristics and benefits of hydrogen-assisted internal combustion.
