At the April general membership meeting of ACCA's Central Ohio Chapter, Dayton police Detective Fred Horine gave advice on how to avoid identity theft. The Federal Trade Commission says that more than 1.1 million people reported they were victims of identity theft in 2001 and many more cases were not reported.
Horton served as a consultant for the Ohio Supreme Court, Judicial Security Project, and is a past president of the Miami Valley Crime Prevention Association.
The group reported that more than 125 people attended its mini-trade show on March 27, which displayed new products and equipment.
