The twin threats of global warming and energy security have finally persuaded investors that there's money to be made in the renewables sector. However, with such a broad range of sub- sectors - from wind and solar power to biofuels and fuel cells - share price performances have been mixed and investors' confidence has ebbed and flowed.
Share prices across much of the fuel cell sector languish well below their levels of a year ago, which contrasts with those of older, more established renewable technology plays, such as wind and solar, which are on the rise.
