Electrocomponents has again maintained its dividend and is making progress on cost-cutting Anthony Lugg

Component distribution specialist Electrocomponents has again maintained its dividend - as it promised it would in 2005, for three years. And, although the dividend is still likely to be uncovered again this year, the group's three-pronged strategy - to focus on the two most important segments of the components distribution market, cut costs, and implement its new computerised EBS order system - is now largely complete.

In fact, EBS implementation costs fell by GBP6m and the system is now fully rolled-out in the UK, Europe and the Far East. So the group achieved GBP7.6m of cost savings with a further GBP3m to come. Meanwhile, there was good growth...
