A large translation services contract with software giant Microsoft drove first-half outperformance Tim Bradshaw
While the likes of Computacenter (see tip update here) may suffer from the delays and slow uptake of Windows Vista, SDL had a particularly strong first half, thanks largely to helping Microsoft translate the marketing material for its big launch. That helped sales come in ahead of forecasts.
So, while chairman and chief executive Mark Lancaster is "quite cautious" about predicting a repeat performance over the rest of the year, he also points out that SDL isn't too reliant on big customers to meet forecasts.
