Shares in VT Group have taken flight on renewed speculation that the support-services provider and ship builder could be a takeover target. Although no names were linked to a possible bid, its shares gained 9 per cent to 634p in two days. VT Group says it is not aware of any takeover activity.
Analysts say BAE Systems, Serco or Lockheed Martin could be suitors for VT Group.
