RESULTS: The upmarket estate agency and property consultant prepares for a challenging 2008. Claer Barrett
Savills, the property consultant and upmarket estate agent, has qualified its record set of results with a warning that confidence levels are still low in the UK property market. However, management says the firm's increasing diversity, both globally and by the services it offers, should offset poorer sales volumes of residential and commercial properties.
Underlying pre-tax profits from Savills' residential and commercial transactional business showed a modest rise of 5 per cent. However, revenue from UK commercial activities fell by 5 per cent and operating profits plunged 19 per cent as a result of the credit crunch.
