TIP UPDATE: Spirent will meet full year expectations thanks to booming demand for Smartphone testing
Telecoms testing business Spirent said that it expects a market recovery in 2010, and that the new solutions it has developed should help it capitalise on the improving trend.
The company said business had stabilised in the third quarter as more optimistic customers resumed investment in next generation data services. So, after a 13 per cent sales decline in the second quarter, third quarter revenues of GBP63.1m were down a mere 3 per cent on the same period a year earlier, while operating profit improved 16 per cent to GBP13.6m thanks to a higher margin product mix and overhead reductions.
