There are more benefits to being on a winning team than just a name. "In our case, we were able to take advantage of all Dean's best practices in design, material flow and processing expertise for the culmination of this facility," says Mark Howard, plant engineer at the Mayfield Dairy Farms year-old Braselton plant. "We took our practice of vacuum treating milk and using yellow pigmented PET [polyethylene terephthalate] containers and combined these with Dean's expertise in process design, control and material handling systems."

The plant's three 50,000-gal. refrigerated milk silos located in the raw alcove receive raw milk seven days per week. Also in the alcove are two 8,000-gal. cream storage silos and one 8,000-gal. disposal storage tank.
