The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) will hold its Lightweight Materials for Auto & Air 2004 conference May 24-26 at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C. The conference will focus on materials technologies that enable the production of safe and cost-effective lightweight vehicles and aircraft. Presentations will cover topics such as nanomaterials and nanotubes, low-cost carbon fiber materials, public-private partnerships in developing lightweight materials technologies, and the near net shape processing of titanium. Pre-conference workshops held in conjunction with the meeting on May 24 will highlight new processes for manufacturing lightweight components and quantitative decision-making methods for R&D investments.
