Medtronic board of directors appoints new member

Minneapolis, MN-based Medtronic, has a new board member. Victor Dzau, MD, chancellor for Health Affairs at Duke University and president and CEO of the Duke University Health System, unanimously was elected to the board as an independent director.
Dr. Dzau's accomplishments in the medical field are staggering: Along with his other appointments, Dr. Dzau is the University's James B. Duke professor of Medicine and director of Molecular and Genomic Vascular Biology. Most recently, he was the Hersey Professor of the Theory and Practice of Physic (Medicine) at Harvard Medical School, as well as chairman of the Department of Medicine and physician-in-chief and director of Research at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
