The Coalition for Public Information is the Canadian library profession's vehicle for ensuring that the nation's nascent information superhighway satisfies public needs. The organization has secured a seat on the Canadian Network for the Advancement of Research, Industry and Education, the federal program charged with developing the highway. To prepare themselves for their new advocacy role, Canada's librarians have planned a conference for Jan 1995.
