LOUISVILLE, Ky.-The University Medical Center, a not-for-profit corporation controlling the 330-bed University Hospital at the University of Louisville, has terminated a management partnership with competitors Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare and Norton Healthcare.

University Hospital Chief Executive Officer James Taylor said the decision to restructure UMC without participation by the two competing healthcare organizations came after a "conversation'' between them and the university.
