Catholic Health Initiatives, Denver, named Beth O'Brien senior vice president and group executive officer, effective Dec. 10. O'Brien will oversee operations at five CHI hospitals: 542-bed St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center, Little Rock, Ark.; 101-bed St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City, Kan.; 385-bed St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, Md.; 367-bed St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo.; and 267-bed St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading, Pa. O'Brien, 59, joined Navigant Consulting, Chicago, in July 2006. She had retired the previous month from her role as president and chief executive officer of Baptist Health System, Birmingham, Ala., after more than two years at the system.
