Alpha Systems Lab. Inc., of Irvine, California, has announced RemoteWatch Platinum Plus, a PC-based digital video surveiilance system. It includes fully configured receiver software. It offers eight camera inputs, upgradable to 32; a 20-gigabyte hard drive; and the user's choice of a preinstalled 56K modem or network card.

Also included are communication links for wireless, cable, modem, the Internet, and other methods. It is controlled by a standard PC running the Windows 95/98 operating system. The user can view remote locations, control cameras, activate electronic devices such as lights and electronic locks, and digitally record both audio and video without the use of VCRs and tapes.
