Smart card personalization.(Brief Article)

Security Management, October, 2001

Datacard Group of Minnetonka, Minnesota, has launched version 1.1 of its Datacard Smart Card Personalization Manager. The server-based platform is designed to bring speed, efficiency, and control to the smart card personalization process. It allows card issuers to store personalization applications and other objects on a central server, and then drive any number of personalization systems via a high-speed network connection.

Instead of managing personalization systems individually, issuers can manage them all from a single point of control, reducing setup time and other manual tasks. It also manages the keys that allow data to remain encrypted throughout the card personalization and loading processes.
