The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has rolled out a new Web site designed to assist first responders when disasters strike. It provides a wealth of information to facilitate the "four pillars" of disaster management: preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Contributing partners to the site include government agencies and nonprofits.
The FEMA Web site provides quick links to information on responding to various disasters; also included are links to sites designed specifically for law enforcement, fire personnel, emergency managers, and emergency medical technicians. Other links help the victims of disasters to find the resources they need, such as where to find food or water during an emergency and how to apply for disaster unemployment...
