Mobile tag reader.(HOT NEW PRODUCTS AND SERVICES)
Security Management, August, 2007
ADT Security Services of Boca Raton, Florida, has introduced an RFID mobile cart designed to provide mobility within storage room and warehouse environments. It lowers costs and increases inventory efficiencies by bringing readers to the tags instead of passing tags through stationary readers installed near the doors.
The Sensormatic RFID Mobile Cart is equipped with an EPCglobal Gen 2 UHF RFID reader and has antennas attached to a 180-degree rotating extendable tower. An onboard battery provides power for eight hours. The cart's compact design allows it to move through doors and aisles and to function as a stand-in for a malfunctioning fixed reader anywhere within a facility. The mobile cart can capture tag reads in less time than an employee using a handheld device. 802
