Limited edition, handcrafted furniture from Steckley Contemporary Organics (steckley.com) in Miami makes a one-of-a-kind gift. Designer Matt Steckiey designs the pieces from tropical hardwoods salvaged from storms and urban development. Steckley has filled his storeroom recently with wood from Hurricane Katrina, which will take two years to dry. Steckley's "Arches" writing desk sells for $17,000. Accessories like the fruit bowl or bowing desk lamp range from $185 to $650 but are not limited editions.
