McCann computers its PC needs. (McCann-Erickson)(Brief Article)

Advertising Age, March, 1998 by Johnson, Bradley

McCann-Erickson last year signed a deal to have a joint venture of IBM and AdWare Systems operate McCann's global computer system. Smart thinking: Let McCann run its ad agency, and let IBM run the computers. IBM would gradually replace machines as needed with new stuff, much of it from IBM.

Since McCann this month won both Gateway 2000 and Silicon Graphics, will McCann ask IBM to install their machines instead of Big Blue's? Yes--to a degree, says Nic Di Iorio, McCann sr. vice-chief technology officer. McCann already has some SGI hardware and will add Gateway PCs "where it makes sense."
