UPN, AOL TEAM UP FOR 'DILBERT': INTERNET SERVICE TO RUN PROMOS DURING TV CREDITS.

UPN and America Online are linking up for an unusual national promotion to launch the broadcast network's highly touted new animated series, "Dilbert."

In the deal, AOL will get to air messages during the "squeezed" credits that appear at the end of UPN's prime-time shows starting this week.

"Squeezed" credits put the show's credits on one side of the screen in order to promote upcoming shows on the other side. Ironically, the squeezed credits also are used to segue smoothly from one show to another and to avoid regular full-length commercial messages and reduce clutter.

During its messages, AOL will be touting an online chat with comic strip creator Scott Adams on Jan. 24, with 10 messages running across UPN's prime-time lineup.
