PROFILE OF THE WEEK.

Advertising Age, November, 1999

Wall Street was unruffled by tumult at Times Mirror Co.'s Los Angeles Times. Former Times Publisher Otis Chandler, though no longer on TM's board, attacked management for an ``unbelievably stupid'' deal to share ad profits with the subject of a Times Sunday magazine edition, L.A.'s new Staples Center arena.

Chairman-CEO Mark Willes joined Times Publisher Kathryn M. Downing in declaring the deal a ``mistake.'' TM's share price, trading near its 52-week high, closed at $70.69 Friday, down 1.99% for the week.
