Linda Kovarik to executive planning director, Japan, Beacon Communications, a joint venture between Publicis Groupe and Dentsu, Tokyo, from regional planning director, Procter & Gamble Co., Asia/Pacific, Publicis' Leo Burnett Worldwide, Hong Kong, starting in January. She will run Beacon's planning department for all brands, with an emphasis on P&G, succeeding Han Van-Dijk, who left the agency.

Wolfgang Bernhard, 44, will join Volkswagen Group as a board member in February 2005 and will take on worldwide responsibility for Volkswagen-owned brands worldwide in January 2006. He was chief operating officer of Chrysler Group until this summer, when he was ousted days before he was to head Daimler Chrysler-owned Mercedes-Benz light vehicles.
