In weird twists of fate, Tesa Aragones was almost born in a red Volkswagen Beetle as her mother was being rushed to the hospital; then she interned at Boston's Arnold Fortuna Lane in 1991 while in college.

In 1998, the Michigan native, whose parents immigrated to the U.S. from the Philippines, was launch manager for the Beetle's triumphant return to the U.S. in a memorable ad blitz created by Arnold Worldwide.

Her nine-year stint at Volkswagen of America ended when Ms. Aragones left the carmaker in late March and on May 1 started at David & Goliath, Los Angeles, in the new post of managing director-digital branding.
