Pep Boys-Manny, Moe & Jack recently partnered with Datatec Systems to implement its new retail technology across the chain's 595 retail stores and service centers.
Datatec Systems will provide the professional services needed to prepare equipment and implement a new point-of-sale system and network, Philadelphia-based Pep Boys said. The upgrade is part of the company's plans to improve customer service and integrate its retail and service departments.
For the conversion, Datatec teams will upgrade Pep Boys' store infrastructure then roll in racks of new equipment and install the POS systems in an orchestrated effort to get each site online, Pep Boys said. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by year-end.
