Michelin opens first S.C. inflation station.(South Carolina Department of Transportation )(Brief Article)

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is partnering with Michelin North America Inc. (MNA) to create tire inflation stations at high-traffic Welcome Centers throughout the state.

Michelin and the SCDOT recently opened the first of seven stations planned over the next two years, MNA said. The first station is located on the eastbound side of Intestate 26 near Landrum, S.C.

The stations will provide a designated area for motorists to check tire pressures, fill tires with the proper amount of air and learn more about tire safety and the importance of proper tire maintenance, MNA said.
