Strike hasn't hurt ATD's fill rates
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C.-American Tire Distributors Holdings Inc. (ATD) said its fill rates from Goodyear have not suffered significantly so far during the more than 5-week-old United Steelworkers' strike at 16 of the tire maker's North American plants.
ATD President and COO Bill Berry said the distributor faced some issues early on, but nothing major.
"So far we're getting what I'll call acceptable fill rates from them,'' he told analysts during a conference call.
In fact, he added, ATD has added an additional 8,000 tires to its inventory since the end of October.
Mr. Berry said ATD, which works with other suppliers as well, would be able to shift product if problems do arise. He said Goodyear...
