He used to install tires as a part-time employee at Tire Discount House, but now 17-year-old Matthew Kerry is focusing on a more challenging job-getting his life back together after a diving accident left him a quadriplegic this summer.
His former boss, Rick Bixman, owner of Tire Discount House in Dearborn Heights, helped host a dinner party fundraiser for him Nov. 4, one of several fundraisers Mr. Kerry's church and community have held to help him offset the cost of rehabilitation.
