New chief exec, HQ for Les Schwab Tire.(appointment of Dick Borgman)(Brief article)

Les Schwab Tire Centers Inc. has named Dick Borgman CEO and announced plans to move its headquarters to Bend, Ore.

Les Schwab said Mr. Borgman, 51, previously served as president of Les Schwab Holding Co. Division.

"Dick worked closely with (founder Les Schwab) and me for the last 16 years,'' said Chairman Phil Wick. "Both the board of directors and the Schwab family have complete confidence that he is the right person to lead the company over the next phase of continued growth and expansion.''

The retail dealership also announced plans to buy land for a new corporate office in Bend. The company said the headquarters will be about 120,000 square feet and will sit on about 12 acres. The building should be complete by fall 2008.
