Seven tire industry and automotive aftermarket companies reported buoyant sales during their most recent quarters.
American Tire Distributors Holdings Inc. (ATD), Monro Muffler Brake Inc., Myers Industries Inc., Pep Boys-Manny, Moe & Jack, Titan International Inc., Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. and Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. all posted double-digit gains in sales, but not all saw earnings follow the sales increases.

ATD posted a 16.9-percent increase in sales for the second quarter as the firm also swung to a profit of $1.14 million from a net loss last year.
The wholesaler's sales rose to $469.6 million in the quarter, up from $401.6 million a year ago. The net income offset a loss of $3.49 million a year...
