In an effort to meld its Bridgestone Bandag L.L.C. retreading unit with its truck tire division, Bridgestone/Firestone (BFS) has merged the sales and marketing operations of both to create Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions based in Muscatine.
BFS acquired Bandag last year. The reorganization and consolidation of both companies' field sales staff March 31 involved a net reduction of fewer than 50 positions, according to a spokesman. Customer service for new truck tires and commercial retread products will still be handled at both BFS's Nashville, Tenn., headquarters and at the Bridgestone Bandag base in Muscatine. The spokesman said the reorganization was in response to customer feedback.
