Anthony Blackman, president of Atlantic Tire & Service, is the recipient of the Cary Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Business Leader of the Year award.

The award, based on the chamber's fiscal year, is given annually to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to both it and the community. An awards banquet was held Sept. 16.

The chamber said it recognized Mr. Blackman for having an entrepreneurial spirit and fostering a working environment that guaranteed results.
