AU Daycare Children Show No Signs Of Arsenic Poisoning in Spring Valley.

Hair samples of children attending a daycare center at American University (AU) in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Washington, D.C., showed no sign of arsenic poisoning, according to test results released last week. Earlier, the Baltimore District found elevated levels of arsenic in the soil of the university's daycare center playground.
Hair sampling also did not detect arsenic poisoning in students and university workers who used a nearby university athletic field. The arsenic likely comes from World War I chemical warfare research conducted at the AU Experiment Station (TCR, Jan. 10, p. 5).
