Numerous issues, including environmental remediation of the former General Iron Works site, have kept this project in early planning stages. Construction of a light-rail station is scheduled for 2008, assuming agreement between RTD and potential developers Barton Brothers and Winslow Crane; a spokesman for the latter two declined comment. Projected station cost (not including commercial/residential development), including 450 parking spaces, is $5.1 million.
