Fotec now offers the Lucent LC connector interface on the S665 fiber optic visual fault locator. The availability of the LC interface makes the S665 much more convenient for testing networks using the new small form factor connector. Visual fault locators inject high power visible light from a laser diode into a cable to trace fibers and find faults.

Fiber breaks or areas of high stress can be found with visual inspection. These instruments are particularly important in finding problems in cables too close to the OTDR for detection. The Fotec S665 sells for $650. It is also available with ST, SC and FC connector interfaces. It is available from stock at Fotec and from distributors worldwide.
