College Athletic Data Online -- Colleges and universities interested in staying abreast of how their competitors are faring, as well as K-12 teachers seeking real-world online data to use for class problems or projects, may want to check out a new Department of Education Web site. The feature contains data on men's and women's intercollegiate athletics programs.
Included on the site is information about the total revenues and expenses attributable to the institution's intercollegiate athletic activities; revenues and expenses attributable to football, men's basketball, women's basketball and all other combined sports; the number of participants assigned to each varsity team; and a bevy of other information.
