* Chinese scientists think a male contraceptive pill that will block sperm production and at the same time guard against sexually transmitted disease is a possibility, the BBC News Online reported March 1. The team at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong reported in the journal Science that an anti-microbial substance found in part of the male rat's reproductive system called the epididymis is also responsible for sperm storage, production and maturation and thus could be used as a male anti-infection contraceptive.
