UNITED AIRLINES DEBUTS SPEECH RECOGNITION INFORMATION SYSTEM.

United Airlines has debuted new speech recognition technology that will provide customers with faster access to flight information through its toll-free flight information telephone number. The system is based on speech activated technology developed by SpeechWorks, a provider of conversational speech recognition technology and products for e-business solutions, and running on a platform provided by InterVoice-Brite, Inc. (NASDAQ: INTV), a global supplier of call automation systems. The system is active, allowing customers to call United at 1.800.824.6200 anytime and speak naturally into any phone to check the status of any of United's 2,400 daily flights.
