Allied Domecq Gets Stoli, Repositions Beefeater.

* Allied Domecq has been named exclusive U.S. distributor of Stolichnaya vodka beginning this month, the company announced. It acquired rights to the venerable brand for a 10-year term following negotiations with the brand owner and supplier, Soyuzplodimport. Allied Domecq also receives the relevant trademarks and reseponsibility for the marketing and development of the brand. In addition, Allied Domecq has been granted the right of first refusal in renewing the agreement at the end of the 10-year term as well as the right of first refusal over distribution and trademark rights to the brand as they become available in markets outside the U.S.

Stoli is the second best-selling imported vodka in the U.S., with sales of more than 1 million 9-liter cases a year....
